These schools were chosen from hundreds of entries and then selected by a public vote to win a Great American School Spectacular.

Weldon, IL

Studying weather leads to both exploration and discovery. Benner plans to create a weather center in her school to benefit grades K-8. This project will serve to not only enhance and broaden curriculum, it will also improve the school’s achievement in both science and math.

Bad Axe Middle School
Abbie London
Bad Axe, MI

With the consolidation of schools and grades shifting between buildings, Bad Axe Middle School has never been equipped for young children and has no playground equipment. A group of teachers and parents has formed a group called Project Playground that will create an age-appropriate outdoor play area and foster learning through play.

Interboro High School

Prospect Park, PA

The healthcare industry is one of the top three employers in the Philadelphia region, where Interboro lies. Lavery plans to equip his Allied Health students with tools and technology such as medical simulators, interactive anatomical models and a digital whiteboard, to help give them a competitive edge
